1995 — June 6th: Vatican Library To Go Live on The Internet
Father Leonard Boyle in Vatican City was working on bring the Vatican’s library into the age of The Internet. The LA Times reports the progression of religion and technology as the Vatican Library would go live on the web. Computerizing the library’s catalog and manuscripts would bring the library to the whole world. Partly funded by IBM, the world would be able to view the archives paintings and other offerings including extensive collections dating back to early Rome.
